As a father to four children of his own, Dr Hanna truly understands the wonder and privilege of bringing a child into the world. He is a dedicated obstetrician whose goal is to help you achieve your expectations, at the same time ensuring a safe delivery for mother and baby.
Dr Hanna would like to see you for your first pregnancy appointment at 8 to 10 weeks. He will take a full medical history and perform an ultrasound so you can see your growing baby, perhaps for the first time. You will no doubt have questions regarding your pregnancy and Dr Hanna is only too happy to answer them at this and any future appointments.
If you have any concerns about your pregnancy prior to your first visit, please contact us for an earlier appointment.
You will then come in to see him every 4 weeks until 28 weeks, then fortnightly until 36 weeks and finally, weekly until your baby is born. Feel free to bring your partner or other family members to join you at any of your appointments.
After your baby is born, Dr Hanna will visit you every day in hospital until you are discharged. Six weeks after you go home, he will see you in his rooms for a post-natal check.
Dr Hanna is experienced in caring for women with complex pregnancies and managing patients who need specialised care, including patients with:
Dr Hanna provides his obstetric patients with his mobile number so you can contact him outside of normal business hours throughout your pregnancy if you have any concerns.
Dr Hanna understands the value of seeing the same obstetrician throughout your pregnancy. It’s reassuring to have someone you and your partner know and trust to guide you through to delivery. So Dr Hanna will be available for you whether your baby decides to arrive during the day, at night or on the weekend.
He prefers to take on fewer patients so he can give more personal care to his patients. On the rare occasion he is not available, he will ensure a respected and experienced colleague attends to you.
The nature of obstetrics can be unpredictable and sometimes Dr Hanna is called away from the consulting rooms to attend to a patient in the Delivery Suite. When this happens it is sometimes necessary for us to reschedule your appointment.
Please remember to bring your doctor’s referral to your initial obstetric appointment. This will enable you to obtain a Medicare rebate if you are an Australian resident. Please also bring all blood tests or other investigative test results undertaken for this pregnancy.
All three hospitals that Dr Hanna delivers babies from offer comprehensive education programs that include antenatal classes, grandparent classes, postnatal classes during your stay, breastfeeding classes as well as baby CPR and first aid courses.
